What dimensions is a 'conventional bale'?

Bales sizes approx.  1 metre long x 45 CM wide x 30 CM high (36” x

18” x 12”).  The bales are suitable for two average sized adults.

We can also supply large rectangle bales and round bales.

Are the bales flame retardant?

No, they are a natural product.

What happens when you deliver the bales?

There are different options available.  As standard we will just drop the

bales of at the delivery location, unloaded next to our delivery van and

they would need to be returned there for collection.  However, if the

bales need to be carried, set our and picked up, there would be an extra

cost added, this will need to be arranged before delivery.  Please also let

us know if you need the bales taken upstairs or in a lift on order.

When can you deliver/collect the bales?

We can carry this out any day of the week.  We will arrange a two hour

time slot on each day with yourselves.  We can also arrange early and

late collections, however this may incur an extra charge.

Are bales messy?

Bales will naturally shed and therefore it is worth making sure your

venue is aware and happy with this. It is often useful to have a brush

ready to sweep up any excess straw or hay.

Is there a minimum order?

We can hire bales of various quantities. Feel free to send us an email to

discuss your exact requirements. We cater for small and large events such

as weddings, family parties, school fetes, festivals, barn dance, assault

courses, corporate events and photo-shoots. We love the variety of our

work and are happy to work on events of all types.  Scattered around

they make temporary comfortable seating.

Can we collect / return bales from yourself?

Yes, all we ask is that you book the bales in advance to ensure that they

are available.

What is the difference between straw and hay bales?

There is not a lot in it for seating. In the farming world, straw is made

from harvesting the stalks of wheat or barley.  It is used for bedding for

animals.  Hay is grass, mown, turned and harvested, with the sunshine

on.  It takes 3 days of good weather to make hay, quite a feat in this

country.  It is generally used as animal feed.

Straw is brighter and more golden in appearance than hay, which is much

softer.

Do you provide a bale dressing service?

Yes we do, we have a range of covers, blankets etc.  Please let us know if

you want us to carry this out on order, as an extra charge will be added.

Are your hay and straw bales covered?

Not as standard, but we offer a number of coloured covers which can be

wrapped over the bales to add colour.  The bales are comfy enough

without extra padding but if you use throws, blankets or other coverings

these can also help to protect people's clothes when sitting on the bales.

Hay and straw bales are intended to give that rustic feel.

How much the bales cost to Buy or Hire?

Bales are £5 each to hire and £8 each to buy.   Discounts available for

larger orders – price on application.  There will also be a delivery and

collection charge added.  No VAT.

How are your bales stored?

Our bales are stored in a locked container.

Where is your hay/straw grown?

We grow and harvest hay and straw in the Alton and surrounding areas.

Where do you deliver straw bales to?

We deliver bales nationwide.

What is a security deposit?

This is an amount needed to be paid by card or BACS before delivery of

the items.  When the items are collected, the driver will check over items

and if there are no damages or missing items, the amount will be returned

to you in full.  If there are any damages or missing items, this will be

discussed with you and an amount taken.
